The original Ebony

Before I got the idea for this graphic novel, Ebony started out as a character design for a possible animated short. Here's some of the design which may actually make it to the book...

Ok here are those pencils... Terrible... I usually pencil a lot tighter and you can actually see how it affected the inks but hey this was just a test.

More Experimenting...

Ok so I did the rough panel tests. Basically I inked over stick figures. In fact I'll post the pencils later today. What I'm thinking the next step should be is a finished page. Just one. That's actually fully pencilled and inked. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I've begun the script which will be 120 pages. I'll post snippets as I go. I don't want to give away to much!

Test panels

Ok so I'm playing around with the style and I think I want to go a little cartoony. I whipped these up on Sat. just to get a feel. As far writing goes I've worked out my story beats for the 120 pages. I plan to begin writing the full script this week.

...and so it begins

Well people I plan to document the production of my graphic novel Ebony Twist here. Everything from script to character sketches. I'll try to post every day to purge my soul. LOL. I'm in the research phase right now as the story takes place in 1977. In fact i'll even post some of that stuff as well. Feel free to comment or leave suggestions. Well that's it. Day one has been logged. So say we all... yeah I'm a geek...
